Open Letter from Notario Media to the Electoral Council

 

Notario Medya, the sole press organisation of Election Game'24, determined its founding principles and programme at a meeting held today. According to the rules set by the Electoral Council, press organisations, like political parties, must submit the necessary documents to the Electoral Council. In this context, Notario will become the main press organ of the parliament by submitting its founding petition and programme tomorrow.

"Since the activities of the press organs are also regulated by the Electoral Council, we, Notario, have some demands from the Electoral Council:

1) The role of the free press is indisputable for the transparency and reliability of the electoral environment. In this context, we request the parties to grant accreditation to members of the press in order to ensure that the information we have obtained is conveyed to the public quickly and from the first source,

2) Within the scope of accreditation, notario.'s reporters have access to party meetings and communication channels such as WhatsApp,

3) Including the Election Committee meetings within the scope of this accreditation,

4) At least one member of each party must be appointed as a press spokesperson,

we kindly submit."

Election Game’24 ün tek basın organı Notario Medya, bugün yaptığı toplantıyla kuruluş prensipleri ve programını belirledi. Seçim Kurulu’nun belirlediği kurallar gereği, basın kuruluşlarının da siyasi partiler gibi Seçim Kurulu’na gerekli belgeleri sunması gerekiyor. Bu bağlamda, Notario yarın kuruluş dilekçesini ve programını vererek parlamentonun ana basın organı olacak.

“Yönetmelik gereği basın organlarının faaliyetleri de Seçim Kurulu tarafından regule edildiğinden, Notario olarak Seçim Kurulu’ndan bazı taleplerimiz var:

1. Seçim ortamının şeffaflığı ve güvenilirliği açısından özgür basının rolü tartışılmazdır. Bu bağlamda, edindiğimiz bilgilerin birinci kaynaktan ve hızlı bir şekilde kamuoyuna aktarılması için partilere basın mensuplarına akreditasyon vermesini,

2. Akreditasyon kapsamında; partilerin toplantılarına, WhatsApp gibi iletişim kanallarına notario.’nun muhabirlerinin erişim sağlamasını,

3. Seçim Kurulu toplantılarının da bu akreditasyon kapsamına alınmasını,

4)Partilerin en az bir üyesinin basın sözcüsü olarak atamasının zorunlu olmasını,

Arz ederiz.”
